The best place to get fresh shrimp. Brought in off of their own boats. Prices are very competitive and you have the option of head on or off. Large and X-Large sizes have been successful for us. Smaller size is great for bait(not frozen). They also have a large selection of frozen fish and locally caught fresh fish. Dips and sauces also available. Not open on Sundays. Bring your ice chest and they will give you some ice.

Hey everyone! I just cleaned these shrimp and they are the cleanest shrimp I have ever purchased anywhere down south, they are boxed up and nice little boxes. They packed them heavy with ice, I'm very impressed on how clean these shrimp are very very, very, very clean!

Our go to place for a wide variety of fresh seafood when visiting the area every year. Kind folks that package your seafood with ice and they also carry the best condiments to make a meal outstanding.

Shrimp portions were amazing. They were extremely helpful in packaging up 10lbs of jumbo shrimp for travel. We spent two days on the road and the shrimp were still fresh and cold.

While on vacation we decided to do a crab boil.. This place had everything we needed seafood wise. The seafood was very fresh. The shrimp was so fresh we Got more just to grill. The place was very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. They also had a smoked fish dip. It was amazing

Full disclosure: I have a special affection for this place because I spend a lot of sunrises and sunsets watching their fishing boats going out and coming back in from my back yard because they are located a few hundred yards across from me on the Bon Secour river. With that said I found out years ago that their shrimp is always caught locally and never imported, and I have always been able to get nice selections of flounder, shrimp, crawfish, grouper, lobster, and more. The also offer specials on certain choices of fish and you can get special holiday promotions, and make sure that you're welcome to call to reserve special orders for pickup, I've done that more than a few times. One of their specialty offerings is the awesome Gulf Coast royal red shrimp -- this variety has made a name for itself in the seafood world, and especially in the local restaurants with a bright red shell and a crazy good flavor to match. You'll only find these locally, and they are a real treat. The first time I discovered Gulf Shores back in 1993 I got a platter of these steamed beauties with drawn butter and it blew me away. They are large, set almost rich tasting flavor that reminds me of crab, lobster and shrimp all in one bite. If you haven't had these you're missing out, delicious! They will also gladly pack your seafood to travel and fir all these reasons and more Aquila seafood market is my first choice for buying fresh, local and trusted seafood.

Authentic local fish market with great selection and affordable prices. The colorful market is nestled on the creek surrounded by vintage fishing vessels. The shop looks like a scene from a Hemingway novel. The shop was recommended to us by locals. I loved the staff which were helpful even though we were overwhelmed by the holiday crowd and selection. The manager described the different shrimp and crab. Prices were cheap ranging from $5 to $9 per pound for most fish. Crab ran higher up to $25 pound for lump. We bought snapper and two different varieties of shrimp including Royal Reds. They promptly filleted the fish for us and all fish were bagged separately with a generous supply of ice. We also picked up fresh horseradish, which made our eyes water in a good way. The shrimp was delicious.... fresher than any I'd ever had. The snapper was equally delicious. I plan to visit this market often during our stay. Highly recommend and well worth our 13 hour drive.

In the Gulf Shores area, you will find LOTS of places to purchase seafood, but none will be as good as Aquila. These people were the ORIGINAL "finder" of Royal Reds, a type of shrimp that is located much deeper than most boats can reach. All of their seafood is fresh caught and on ice so you can chose for yourself. It doesn't get any fresher than that. The sales area is spars and cramped. Pretty much only one customer at a time can shop the fish case. But who needs "fluff"? That just ads to the price. Last time I was in the shop they had Royal Red "pieces" at an unheard of $5.99/pound. Trust me, it's worth the drive.
